Pond Infants and Toddlers: Month Of The Young Child!

Hello Families,

In April we celebrate the Month Of The Young Child! We will be implementing activities with the children to celebrate and incorporate their interests! The month will look as follows:

April 2-6: Community Week
April 8-13: Parent Week
April 16-20: Children Week
April 12-27: Staff Week

We wanted to inform you that during community week we will be posting some of the Children’s art work at a local cafe’ in Ann Arbor called Cafe’ Marie. Cafe’ Marie is located on Plymouth road and the pond wing art work will be posted there on Friday, March 30 and it will be taken down on the morning of Friday, April 6! Please feel free to stop in and view your child’s art work! Cafe’ Marie is open until 3 p.m. everyday and their website is listed below for further information.

We will also be hosting a mini march for Cystic Fibrosis. We will keep you posted with information regarding the march and any other activities that we may be participating in during the month. Please let us know if you have any questions!

Pond Infants and Toddlers: Reminders for the week of March 12, 2012.

Hello Families,

This week the toddlers will be practicing safety with a tornado drill on Tuesday, March 20 at 4:15.

They will also be exercising their bodies with Tammy Holley on Thursday, March 22 at 10:30 and 11:00.

Pond Infants and Toddlers: Recent Photos!

Hello Families,

Posted below are some recent photos highlighting activities that the children have been enjoying!

You will see that the Cozy Cove infants got all bundled up and ventured outdoors for some sledding, while the Water’s Edge toddlers show off their Snowman “Krusty” that they decided to build! Then, inside the Shady Spot toddlers enjoyed exploring a cardboard box! They investigated it by painting, climbing inside and peeking through the windows!

Listed below are some of the Key Developmental Indicators that the children may have experienced during these various activities.

*Children repeat an action to make something happen again, experience cause and effect.

*Children experience “more”.

*Children imitate and pretend.

Pond Infants and Toddlers: Birthdays and Warm Welcomes!

Hello families,

This month, we will be welcoming back Katie from her maternity leave! She will return to work on Thursday, March 1st. We will also be welcoming her son, Michael to the Cozy Cove! Then, James Wei and his family will be joining Gretchen’s House as well. James will be enrolled in our older toddler classroom, Water’s Edge – we are excited to have you all here!

We will also be celebrating a few birthdays as well!

Weston and Nora will celebrate their second Birthday on Friday, March 2nd!

Henry will celebrate his second Birthday on Monday, March 12th.

Lastly, Katherine will celebrate her first Birthday on Saturday, March 31st!

We wish them all a very Happy Birthday!
